I have really enjoyed the discussion encouraged by the WEB Wandering Wednesday Post - I Think She's Dead.
Thank you all for your comments. Many of you found the entire subject morbid but fascinating. Maureen Taylor, The Photo Detective, is justifiably skeptical, Sally Jacobs, The Practical Archivist is on the right track.
Join me Wednesday, when I will share my research into the subject and the photograph. I've wandered the web, visited the library, and consulted the Dubuque Historical Society using the phone (yes, that old fashioned instrument known as the phone).
