More From Shades

Caroline Pointer
IN2GENEALOGY

Shades Of The Departed
is adding another column in the month of November; a purely genealogical column called In2Genealogy. To date an old photograph you often need the tools familiar to most genealogists and family historians. This article will help use those tools and sources in dating those photographs.

The first article in this series will be the product of the research of Caroline Pointer. Caroline is the author of three genealogical-related blogs that all focus on family stories: Family Stories, Family Stories in Stone, and Texas Family Stories. She graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Marketing.

Having just “discovered” genealogy three years ago, Caroline plans to complete the National Genealogical Society's Home Study Course with the intent of eventual certification through the Board of Certification of Genealogists. She hopes to combine her 10+ years of business experience with her love of history and family stories to raise the awareness of the importance of everyone finding their family story.

Join Caroline and In2Genealogy for "Making Census of 1930" this week on Shades!

Shades is very lucky to have the expertise of Caroline Pointer for this new column.

Plus she has a great sense of humor and some really off the wall poetry.

Welcome aboard! You'll fit right in.
