I am dreadfully delighted to be included in this edition, fM dear. You have outdone yourself once again with a beautiful publication. I hardly know which article to read first.

Thank you for all your work to make Shades so very special.

I don't know how you do it, fM, but Shades the Mag just gets better and better.

D'ya know how I read Shades? First I go page by page from beginning to end just to take in the beautiful graphics. What a treat for the senses to see your lovely layouts! I suppose I linger upon these because I have a special appreciation for graphic design. And your mag is exceptionally well done.

Once I reach the end I go back and look again, this time to determine my favorite layout. Mind you, I don't actually read any of the articles during this process. This is strictly a visual feast with no mental concentration required.

It is only after I have determined which page layout I like the best that I can look through the table of contents to see which articles are contained within.

And then I start with the first article and read my way through to the end, savoring once again the photos, fonts, blandishments, and the ever important white space.

Shades the Mag is a most satisfying visual delight and educational/photographical smorgasborg of treats. Thank you for another wonderful edition.

This is my first time experiencing Shades of the Departed and I am astounded! What an beautiful and informative magazine!!

I was particularly attracted to Rebecca Fenning's article "What I do as an Archivist and Librarian." I have a "mini" archive of family papers, photographs and paraphernalia myself. Rebecca does a great job of explaining how I could begin to organize some of these treasures.

The other article I became immersed in was Denise Barrett Olson's, "Release Your Inner Ken Burns." I love the title since I am a big fan of his. I am going to have to go read Parts I and II now that I see some of the possibilities for creating beautiful and professional presentation.

I'm looking forward to the next issue!

Thank you for the particularly timely (for me) article on pages 20-27 of the Feb 2010 issue about organizing and cataloging collections. I am struggling with the monumental task of organizing, labeling, and cataloging a roomful of items of all sorts that I shipped home after the death of my husband's last remaining parent. I have been trying to figure out the best way of cataloging these items, so would be very grateful for more pointers or suggested websites or articles to guide me along the way! Thank you!

It's my first time reading Shades and I love it - thanks for all the hard work. Had a "quick flick" with my tea before work but will come back later. Enjoyed the Archivist article which has given me some good ideas for organisation
