June 6 - And The Guest Author Is . . .

It's Digi-Scrap Scrapin' Time!

JASIA

Creative Genealogy

Creative Gene

I don't have one inch of available space in my office, yet I want to join the scrapbook craze. We all have wonderful old photographs that would make beautiful scrapbook pages or wall art. What can we do?

June 3, Jasia of Creative Genealogy and Creative Gene will join Friday From The Collectors on Shades and introduce us to the world of digital scrapbooking. She'll point us in the right direction for designing our digital pages and projects. Her enthusiasm is contagious!

Jasia became so interested in Digi-Scrapping she now authors a blog dedicated to her new found art form, Creative Genealogy. This is the place where she combines her love of family history and scrapbooking. If you've seen her work, you've marveled at the things she has accomplished on her computer. Jasia said this about digital scrapbooking:

Digital scrapbooking has truly become an art form unto itself. It's not just about putting pages together in album form anymore . . . many retail craft stores offer 12"x12" frames for your finished scrapbook pages so you can display them gallery style at home . . . you can take that old stoic photo of Uncle Stanley and give it new life with color backgrounds, a theme to match his hobby or work, and journaling to explain what a character he was. It gives his picture visual interest and adds a whole new dimension to your family history!

We all know her as the Queen of the COG (Carnival of Genealogy), but she's also the Queen of Family Digital Scrapbooking. So join us June 3 for Friday From The Collectors, as we soak up some tips, tools, inspiration and information courtesy of Jasia.

Come catch the digital scrapbooking wave!

Oh, Goody! I've always wanted to know more about this. But, danger lurks... how will I ever be able to go back to quilting?
